Concern throughout the Weston community has been brought to the attention of the Health Department and the School Department. As you may or may not be aware, certain ticks, those called deer ticks, found throughout Massachusetts, can carry Lyme Disease. If ticks are removed in a timely fashion, this lessons the chances of infection. Therefore it is important for parents/guardians to continue routine checking of their children for ticks.
Warm days in the fall and winter, temperatures 50 degrees and above, cause ticks to become active.
