School Year/School Calendar
In response to the need for the school community to plan accordingly, the general rule for calendar development shall be as follows: when Labor Day occurs prior to September 5, the start date for students will be the Tuesday after Labor Day. When Labor Day occurs on September 5 or later, the start date for students will be the Wednesday before Labor Day. The Committee will continue its practice of adopting the next year's school calendar annually, and may vote exceptions to the "general" rule set forth above.
The above proposed policy was discussed and revised at the School Committee meeting of November 2, It will be discussed and is expected to be voted on at the next School Committee meeting, Monday, November 16, at Case House, 7:00 PM. Please contact Cheryl Maloney, Superintendent, or Ed Heller, School Committee Chair, if you wish to provide feedback or comment. All members of the community are encouraged to attend this and all School Committee meetings.
