At Country, Woodland, and Field Schools, we will collect the students' Halloween candy (and notes, artwork, photos) to send to servicemen and women serving overseas. Here’s how you can help: 1) Give us the APO or FPO address of a friend or relative serving in Iraq or Afghanistan; we’ll send a surprise package.
2) Ask your children to put their Halloween candy donations into the Treats for the Troops barrel at school during the week of November 2.
3) Recognize Veterans' Day by bringing your children to help us fill boxes with candy. Country & Woodland Schools: 2:20PM, Friday, November 6. Field School: TBA.
4) Let your children take a box or two to the post office to mail themselves ($10.85 per box). Or, donate cash to our postage fund (we mailed 144 boxes lat year). If we receive more than we need for postage, we’ll send the rest to The Barton Center for Diabetes Education (www.bartoncenter.org), a Massachusetts non-profit organization that operates a life-altering camp for insulin-dependent children.
