Boys Soccer State Champions

Congratulations to the Weston Boys soccer team for winning the Division 3 state title with a 2-0 victory over Douglas High School. The championship game was played on Sunday, November 22^nd, at Worcester State. The team played an outstanding game with everyone contributing to the win. In front of a crowd of very supportive fans, the team executed well and never lost intensity. Coach Capobianco paid tribute to senior goalie Duncan Van Nest, filling in for injured Hunt Batter. The Boston Globe (Nov. 23, p. C12) under the headline, “Believe it: Weston wins first title,” described the excitement experienced by the team and Coach Renato Capobianca.  

 

During their tournament run, Weston did not give up a single goal while scoring 24 of their own.
