WHS had 4 students selected into the NAfME All-Eastern Honors Band and Orchestra

This is an incredible honor for these students and pretty amazing that 4 students were selected from our small High School (There were a total of 11 string players selected from Massachusetts - 3 from Weston).  

Info about the event:

Weston HS had 4 students selected into the NAfME All-Eastern Honors Band and Orchestra.  The event was held in Atlantic City, NJ in April from April 5 - 8, 2017.  The NAfME Eastern Division consists of the following states:   CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, PA and VT.  These students prepared challenging music that they performed under the leadership of prominent conductors in this biennial event. Students spent three days rehearsing during the Eastern Division Conference of NAFME: The National Association for Music Education.  The 2017 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles performed for an audience of thousands on Sunday, April 8, 2017, in Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.

Sara Kawai - Harp, Orchestra
Kendrick Kirby-Lee - Violin, Orchestra
Katherine Tak - Violin, Orchestra
Sophia Palocz - Alto Saxophone, Band

This is a tremendous honor for these students as well as the Weston Music Program.
