ACTFL Can-Do Statements

The NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements are an assessment tool that provides learning targets for curriculum and unit design, monitors student progress in language acquisition, and communicates expectations for each level.

 

The Can-Do statements are divided into five distinct modalities:

 

Interpersonal Communication

Presentational Speaking

Presentational Writing

Interpretive Listening

Interpretive Reading
