More than 135 speakers, whose careers include the arts, business ownership, education, engineering, environment, hospitality, law, media, medical research, medicine, non-profits, politics, science, and sports, spoke at this year's event.
Our speakers represent a wide range of experiences. Some knew what they wanted to do when they were in high school, while others have made major changes in the middle of their careers. ALL of our speakers are interested in engaging in a wide variety of interactive discussions and high technology presentations.
Career Day is an integral part of the WHS School-to-Careers Program, which includes the Sophomore Career Seminar class and the Senior Internship class. The Day gives students the opportunity to explore possible career paths and provide insight into the specific requirements, daily responsibilities, and extraordinary experiences associated with each career. Studentsl have the opportunity to listen to professionals about their fields and to ask questions.
This day is a time to learn more about which courses in high school and college can prepare students for a particular career. Juniors and Seniors should use this day to identify possible internships during the Senior Internship in May.
Students attend three individual speaker sessions. See the Speaker Guide . Speakers are scheduled by Blocks.
