Title II Teacher Quality & Enhanced Educational Technology
In FY ’09 these funds ($46, 837) were used to support professional development for faculty, including the Mentor Program and the Weston Professional Development Academy. In addition, the funding was used to pay for the consultant and substitutes for teachers participating in the Anti-bias, Anti-racist course. A small portion supported new technology software. Given the assessment results from teacher surveys about these programs, we anticipate continuing to use these funds in this way.
Title IV Safe and Drug Free Schools
In FY ’09 these funds ($7,753) were used to augment our health program with the purchase of new curriculum materials. Textbooks, instructional materials, and student workbooks were purchased at the Middle and High Schools. Teacher training materials were also purchased.
In FY’09 we received funds ($62,742) that were tied to supporting at risk students in mathematics at the Country and Woodland Schools. We hired tutors at both schools to work with students in mathematics with both in classroom and out of class support. They also provided consultation to teachers working with at risk students and provided MCAS support to those students. We will be eligible for Title I funding in FY’10 as well, but will have to wait to find out what schools or grade levels qualify for the funding.
