Dear Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2020,

As you know, the Freshman Class Semi Formal is just around the corner on Saturday, May 20th and we have fielded a few questions surrounding the ticket price ($50), so we thought it would be appropriate to share the background.

Each class aims to raise about $10,000 a year to contribute to the cost of major class events like prom and the post-graduation overnight trip held senior year. (For those who don’t know, graduation night of senior year, the kids are whisked off to an undisclosed location for a night full of fun, food, and festivities. It happens every year, with close to 100% class participation, and lets the kids bond as a class for one last time, while keeping them safe).

Semi-formals have always cost around $45 per person to cover the typical expenses - decorations, DJ, police detail, rental equipment/tables, food/drink, etc.  To date, 2020 class fundraising has been less than anticipated; as such, we increased the semi-formal ticket price to $50.  (Early ticket sales are key to planning, which we encourage by raising the ticket price after May 1st to $65). As a note, many expenses are fixed cost such as police details, facility rental fees and DJ, and because we have a small class these costs are spread over fewer families.

Financial support is available as we want everyone to be able to participate.  Please email either of our Faculty Representatives, Monny Cochran ( or Katie Tucker ( if you are interested.

With your support, we’re hopeful we can raise the funds required to keep our kids engaged,  involved and excited about their High School years!
