The National Honor Society and friends are sponsoring a 
Blood Drive
Friday, June 14, 2013
Sign up in TEC or email for an appointment at 9:30, 9:45, 10, 11, 11:30, 1, or 1:45
 
Donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.  
Students must have permission slips signed by parents.  
 
30-40 minutes of your time  will saves lives.

WHS Cafeteria

Children must be at least 3 years old

 

Please contact Andrea Gettys if you plan to leave your child with us

 

You will be asked to sign a waiver form

 

$5/child or $10/family is requirested to offset expenses

 

National Honor Society
Food Drive for the Weston Food Pantry
April 8-May 10, 2-13
The food pantry is open to all Weston residents, but has begun to run out of supplies. They appreciate all nonperishable donations, but are specifically looking for canned tuna, chicken or salmon, fruit cups, pasta/rice products, soups and granola bars. There will be collection bins located in the lobbies of all five of the Weston schools.

2013 Induction Ceremony

Fifty Juniors and three seniors were inducted this year.

The National Honor Society was established in 1921 to recognize outstanding high school students.  More than just an honor roll, NHS honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.  There are more than a thousand chapters across the country:

"To create enthusiasm for scholarship,

to stimulate a desire to render service,

to promote leadership,

and to develop character in the students of secondary schools."

 

Membership is by invitation.  Students in their second semester of their junior and senior years are sent a letter from NHS with an invitation to apply for membership.  The application involves a resume and essay.
