About our Parent Volunteer Groups

Weston High School values and depends on parental involvement.  Student performance is profoundly influenced by parental engagement in the educational process as well as in school life.  Teachers welcome hearing from parents and are available for conferences to discuss their student's performance.  At the same time, there are opportunities throughout the year for parents to support classroom instruction, whether as a mentor for a science class, a speaker on Career Day, or to chaperone on field trips.  In addition, there are several organizations that help parents contribute to the life and administration of the high school, as listed below:

Volunteer to support Class activities

Parents are often called upon to support student class activities.  Whether it's helping to organize the Freshman Cruise, providing decorations for the Sophomore Haunted House; assembling masks for the Junior Prom, or contributing time to the Senior post-Graduation party, you can be as involved as your time and energy allows.

Keep abreast of these opportunities by selecting from the Weston High School website header bar EXTRA-CURRICULAR.  From the drop-down menu, cursor over Class Events and select from Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, or Freshmen.   The links at the right will take you directly there from this page.

The Science Council is subcommittee of the Weston PTO that seeks to support the science curriculum in Weston.  At the high school this may involve soliciting mentors from Weston's scientific community, who may become Senior Internship mentors, speakers on Career Day or to classes, and bringing enrichment programs to the classroom.
