Middle School Music

The music program at the Middle School provides opportunities for participation in vocal and instrumental groups and offers general music courses in Grades six and seven.  The goal is to cultivate a lasting appreciation of music and the personal enrichment that comes from participation and study.  The program has grown dramatically over the past ten years so that the many ensembles offered through the middle school years develop the young musician's performance skills with increasing rigor.

In addition to a mixed chorus in every grade, seventh and eighth graders may audition for Madrigals. Participants must also sing with the seventh or eighth grade mixed chorus.

Band is also offered in every grade, with the opportunity to audition for the Jazz Band.  Participants must also play in the seventh or eighth grade band (or orchestra for string bassists).

Finally, there is a Sixth Grade String Orchestra and a combined Seventh and Eighth Grade String Orchestra.

Private Lessons are the best way to learn.
